I think it has to be "diggin" the colloquially shortened form for "You are digging," or at least I assume the subject would be "you" since it follows a series of commands (Tümpel, watch).

In other words these things that make you go "hmmm" or "wow" are things that open up your mind. Of course, they also make you think.
"Go" is sometimes used for "do" or "say" when followed by a direct imitation/impersonation of someone doing or saying it. It's especially used for physical gestures or sounds that aren't words, because those rule out the use of the verb "say".

Rein your added context, this "hmmm" means to me more of an Ausprägung of being impressed, and not so much about thinking about something. There is of course a fine line.
So a situation which might cause that sarcastic reaction is a thing that makes you go "hmm"; logically, it could be a serious one too, but get more info I don't think I've ever heard an example. The phrase welches popularized hinein that sarcastic sense by Arsenio Hall, who often uses it on his TV show as a theme for an ongoing series of short jokes. When introducing or concluding those jokes with this phrase, he usually pauses before the "hmm" just long enough for the audience to say that parte with him.
